TECHNOLOGY AND PRODUCTION
The Made in Italy quality is particularly noticeable in the production phase. For the production of our pots, pans, skillets and saucepans, only aluminium discs are used: aluminium is an excellent heat conductor, lightweight and easy to handle. Furthermore it can reach higher temperatures in less time, distributing heat evenly over the entire cookware surface, thereby achieving a better cooking performance. Pressing technology is used for manufacturing. In fact, with the use of pressed aluminium (i.e. aluminium that has not undergone die casting), small inclusions of air within the non-stick coating are prevented – a side effect that can happen to cast aluminium during the heating process and that can affect the cookware’s longevity and resistance. Therefore Illa only produces pressed aluminium cookware. Another quality feature of our company.

Illa’s punctual and constant work to improve its safety standards, allows the company to pass consistent and periodic inspections by independent Agencies and audits, including unannounced ones.
Illa has recently upgraded its facilities by acting both on the production and the coating lines. The entire production chain – which undergoes daily and periodic checks – is equipped with highly efficient cutting-edge fumes treatment devices to reduce harmful emissions, both inside and outside the workplace.
Illa has also launched an ambitious energy improvement project that aims to achieve a further 20% reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
Illa strives daily to reduce the amount of waste generated, implementing a constant re-use of waste materials. The consumption of water during production processes has greatly reduced: Illa’s plants are fitted with a closed system where the water used is treated and recirculated. Sediments or polluted process water are disposed of and treated as civil waste; this allows Illa not to resort to industrial dumping.
The entire production cycle of Illa’s non-stick aluminum cookware takes place in the Noceto (PR) plant, allowing total control of the entire supply chain, from the processing of the aluminum disc to the shipment of the product.
The pots, pans and all the tools for Illa cookware are 100% Made in Italy.
The raw materials used are selected and purchased only from certified and market leader producers.
Illa periodically carries out destructive tests on its products and implements strict controls on the entire production process.
Illa products do not contain PFOA or heavy metals that may be harmful to health.
The PTFE coating (polytetrafluorethylene, an inert polymer with high thermal and chemical resistance), purchased from the best international suppliers, is certified by international regulatory Agencies (EFSA, AFSSA and FDA) as absolutely safe material.
Even if the coating is scratched, the aluminum from which the pan body has been made is guaranteed to be suitable for food contact.
The aluminum pan body is guaranteed as suitable for food contact. Illa non-stick coatings ensure safe and healthy cooking, with food that will not stick, even without dressing.
The thickness of the bottom ensures uniform heat distribution and prevents the formation of hot spots that can damage the coating and burn food.
Workers’ health and safety are a cornerstone of Illa’s corporate philosophy. Reducing the risk of occupational illnesses and injuries, for anyone with access to the workplace, is the basis of Illa’s best practice.
Along with regular checks of machinery and sewage treatment plants, Illa pays special attention to staff working conditions: by preparing analysis and assessments on emissions in the various departments of the factory and by putting in place policies to prevent risks and illnesses. In addition, the company integrates the training of workers, already provided by law, with the organization of activities related to internal procedures. Illa operates in, and meticulously respects the provisions of Emilia Romagna, an Italian Region which as one of the most stringent safety standard worldwide.
