HANDLING & CARE

HANDLING & CARE

Thanks to the high quality of the coatings used, Illa pots, pans, skillets and casseroles offer great resistance to scratches

and can be used without the need for particular precautions. The best tip to keep them gleaming longer is to use common sense, namely to avoid or limit the use of sharp or pointed metal utensils or the cutting of food inside the pan.

A good “grandmother’s remedy”, that is both ecological and economic, is to occasionally soak your Illa pots in lukewarm water, bicarbonate and one or two drops of lemon juice for a few minutes, to rub them over carefully with a soft sponge, then rinse and dry with a cotton cloth.

INDUCTION PANS

INDUCTION PANS Why is it more efficient and safer than traditional one? Here is all you need to know about induction technology and Illa’s exclusive induction cookware. All Made in Italy.

How does induction cooking work?

In traditional cooking, hotplates or cookers heat up. Induction cooking works by heating the pan directly rather than heating the hob. Being made with ferromagnetic material, the induction bottom is able to heat up instantly, as soon as it is placed on the hob which turns off as soon as the pot is removed

What are the advantages of using induction pots and pans?

• better energy savings with minimum energy loss
• better precision in regulating the temperature
• no gas leaks
• better safety (the induction hob cools down immediately, as soon as the pot or pan is removed, avoiding possible burns)
• Faster food preparation

Olive oil coatings

Olive oil coatings

The exclusive Ollia-Tech and Ollia-Tech HT patents refer to the Illa lines equipped with an olive oil coating, consisting of a mixture of olive oil and water. The care of Ollia-Tech cookware is very simple. Unlike other pans, needing pre-treatment with a cotton ball soaked with olive oil, the pan with Ollia tech coating does not require this operation as its interior already contains the necessary percentage of olive oil to saturate the pores of the PTFE. This makes the pan even more non-stick. That’s why it is possible to cook without oil or any added fats thanks to the exceptional non-stick of Ollia-Tech already containing a percentage of olive oil inside it.

How do you clean Olliatech pans

To clean the pan with Ollia tech coating, let it cool before washing it. The pan can be cleaned in the dishwasher, however cleaning by hand is recommended. In any case, don’t use abrasive or aggressive chemical products for cleaning. Use a soft sponge with a small amount of washing-up liquid. In the event that food burns inside the pan, fill it with warm water and after a few hours proceed to clean it.

Guaranteed safety

Using scratched pots and pans does not carry health risks for the consumer. In the event that particles of the non-stick coating are accidently ingested, there is no danger: the particles are inert, not toxic and are eliminated directly by the organism without being absorbed. In the event of coating breakage, however, we recommend replacing the pan because where damaged, it ceases to retain its non-stick properties.
